MA Gun Law for the Range Safety Officer

Lesson I: Introduction to the NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course

Lesson II: The Role of the Range Safety Officer & Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Lesson III: Range Inspection and Range Rules

Lesson IV: Range Safety Briefing

Lesson V: Emergency Procedures

Lesson VI: Firearm Stoppages & Malfunctions

Lesson VII: Test & Review

Various Live Fire Exercises and Demonstrations

  • Class size will be limited to 12 students. You must pre-register before November 10, 2025. No walk-ins allowed.

  • THE CLUB WILL PAY FOR ALL CURRENT RANGE OFFICERS

RANGE OFFICERS NEEDED 2025

Range officer coverage throughout the past season has been excellent. Additional range officers are always welcome and needed to ensure that our outdoor ranges are open. Persons interested should email the club.

No formal qualifications or certifications are required. All training will be provided by the club. 

The club needs range officers. No experience is necessary. We will train. If you can donate some time to your club, please e-mail the club.

BRPC Range Officer Program

Range duty consists of 4-5 hour shifts on the outside rifle and pistol range, about once a month or whatever you can work into the schedule. The season runs all year long. The shift times are 10 AM to 1 PM in the winter, and 10 AM to 3 PM with a second shift until dusk in the summer.
